UNFORGIVEN is the first studio album by LE SSERAFIM. It was released on May 1, 2023 with "UNFORGIVEN (feat. Nile Rogers)" as the title track.[1]

The physical album is available in ten versions: "Vol.1 Dewy Sage", "Vol.2 Dusty Amber", "Vol.3 Bloody Rose", five member-specific Compact versions, and two Weverse Albums versions.

Background[]

On March 16, 2023, local news outlet Star News reported that LE SSERAFIM would be releasing an album in early May. Hours later, Source Music responded to the reports and stated that the comeback date will be revealed later.[2] On April 2, a video teaser posted to LE SSERAFIM's official YouTube channel announced the album's title, format and release date.[3] The title UNFORGIVEN was originally alluded to at the end of the music video for "ANTIFRAGILE" with "DO YOU WANT TO BE FORGIVEN?".[4]

Commercial Performance[]

On April 11, 2023, LE SSERAFIM's album distributor YG PLUS announced that pre-orders for UNFORGIVEN had surpassed 1.03 million in just seven days.[5]

On May 1, 2023, Hanteo Chart reported that UNFORGIVEN had sold 1,024,034 copies in its first day of release, setting a personal record for highest first-day sales.[6]

On May 9, it was reported that Unforgiven had sold 89,000 copies on the Oricon Chart, thus ranking first on Oricon's Weekly Chart for the week.[7]

On June 9, 2023, UNFORGIVEN was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for selling 100,000 copies on the Oricon Chart.[8]
