FEARLESS is the debut Japanese single album by LE SSERAFIM. It was released on January 25, 2023.
The songs "FEARLESS (Japanese Ver.)" and "Choices" were pre-released on December 15, 2022 and January 8, 2023 respectively.
Background[]
On November 24, 2022, through LE SSERAFIM's Japanese SNS accounts, the group's Japanese debut date and work were announced.[1][2]
Commercial Performance[]
On January 27, 2023, Source Music reported that the single had sold 132,621 copies on its first day of release. This marks a new record as the highest first-day sales of a Japanese release by a fourth-generation K-pop girl group. Moreover, the single achieved the second-highest first-week sales by any K-pop girl group in Japan within just one day.[3]
On January 30, it was announced that the album had sold 222,286 copies within its first week. Moreover, the single marks the first time a non-Japanese female act has topped Oricon's Weekly Singles Chart in over five years.[4]
On February 10, The Recording Industry Association of Japan reported that "FEARLESS" earned a platinum certification for surpassing 250,000 copies sold in Japan.[5] A month later, on March 10, the single earned a double platinum certification for surpassing 500,000 copies sold in Japan, becoming the first debut single by a K-pop group to do so.[6]
